Over 800,000 container orders are initiated on the INTTRA platform each week, representing more than one quarter of global ocean container trade.

 

About the Internship:  The Stategy & Development intern will support the senior strategy and development team as required to deliver on the overall Company strategy. This will include coordinating and managing research and potentiall being involved in the implementation of selected strategic projects with regional and sometimes enterprise-wide (global) scope generally focused on strategic development topics. All activities will take place under the direction, guidance and supervision of the senior strategy and development team.

This role will also support key stakeholders for each project as required based on the project scope to ensure maximum benefits are delivered from research and support efforts. Deliverables will be required on time and in a high level of quality.

 

About the Program: INTTRA's Summer Internship Program is 10 weeks long, beginning on June 4th and ending on August 10th. Our interns will participate in a number of workshops and activities: from learning how to build a Linkedin Profile and a top notch resume to enjoying lunch with the CEO & President (to name a few). In addition, our interns will participate in a volunteer day (offisite) and a team building day (offsite). At the end of the program, each intern will present their overall internship experience and takeaways to our Executive Team. 

 

Responsibilities

In the highly dynamic strategy and development areas, INTTRA is currently undergoing change and has identified numerous improvement/growth opportunities with corresponding initiatives.

 

In this context, there are multiple undergraduate intern projects available including but not limited to the following:

  • Support in research and development of lead lists for acquisition of targeted technologies;
  • Support in mapping of international transportation value chain activities and players to understand, build, and feed the development pipeline;
  • Support in preparation of specific market penetration studies including geographic (e.g. Japan), segment (e.g. non-container ocean shipping), etc.;
  • Support in researching potential new segments including terminal operators, trucking companies, and other new segment areas to assess need/interest in potential technologies, products, and services; and
  • Support in development of presentation materials for various strategy and development needs.

The intern is responsible for providing appropriate support to selected strategic initiatives while ensuring that they:

  • Maintain the appropriate focus on the project scope;
  • Identify and communicate challenges and any risks that may cause delays to project deliverables;
  • Actively manage their own development needs together with the senior strategy and development team during the internship; and
  • Encourage and contribute to the development of a change culture.

Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain

 

Prior Experience:

  • Some professional work experience including other internships or summer professional experiences preferred but not strictly required

 

Skills & Qualities:

  • Professional working-level skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required (must be able to operate independently and fluently in the basic functions)
  • Experience in project management preferred but not strictly required
  • Knowledge of and ability to read/interpret/analyze company financial statements preferred but not strictly required
